COALITION FOR PETER OBI (CPO)
PRESS RELEASE

Coalition for Peter Obi (CPO) Demands Real-Time Electronic Transmission of Election Results
Abuja, Nigeria — February 10, 2026
The Coalition for Peter Obi (CPO), the pioneer coalition of passionate support groups backing His Excellency Peter Obi since 2022, has intensified its advocacy for credible and transparent elections in Nigeria by demanding the inclusion of Real-Time Electronic Transmission of Election Results directly from polling units in the Electoral Act Amendment.

Since its formation, CPO has remained at the forefront of citizen-driven democratic advocacy. For years, CPO has consistently advocated for electoral reforms that strengthen public trust, eliminate result manipulation, and protect the sanctity of the ballot. The coalition believes that electronic transmission from polling units is no longer optional, it is a democratic necessity. In continuation of this commitment, CPO members were present at the National Assembly on Monday and Tuesday, February 9–10, 2026, where they staged a peaceful protest alongside other groups against the Nigerian Senate’s refusal to include real-time electronic transmission of results in the ongoing Electoral Act Amendment process.

CPO maintains that:
- Real-Time Electronic Transmission or Nothing must be the standard for credible elections.
- The National Assembly must legislate for the people and the integrity of elections, not for manipulation or rigging.
- Nigeria deserves leadership chosen through transparent, verifiable, and technologically secure electoral processes.
CPO calls on all Nigerians, civil society organizations, youth groups, professional bodies, and democracy advocates to stand united in peacefully demanding an electoral system ringed with integrity, transparency, and accountability.

Nigeria deserves the best, not riggers and manipulators as leaders.
Enough is Enough. Nigerians are no longer willing to accept compromised elections.
Signed:
Coalition for Peter Obi (CPO)
